Genevieve interviewed on CNN



 Genevieve Nnaji has been interviewed by CNN's Richard Quest after her first movie as a director was bought by Netflix, making it the very first original Nigerian movie to be acquired by the movie sharing platform.

Lion Heart is Genevieve Nnaji's directorial debut. It features popular actors like Nkem Owoh, Pete Edochie, Onyeka Onwenu, Kanayo O Kanayo, among others. The actress wrapped up filming of the movie on May 10, 2017 and it premiered this September at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival.

A day before the premiere, Netflix announced a deal to acquire the movie. This makes Lion Heart the first original film from Nigeria to be owned by Netflix. 

Genevieve Nnaji was a guest on Richard Quest's show on CNN on Tuesday, September 11, where she discussed her movie specifically and Nollywood generally. She said she sees Nollywood gaining global acceptance in the nearest future but the only barrier she foresees is the language.

Cameroon legend Samuel Eto'o donates to former captain Norbert Owona

Cameroonian legend,  Samuel Eto’o  has reportedly donated funds to the former captain of the Indomitable Lions,  Norbert Owona  who has been homeless and sick. According to several reports, Owona became very broke, sick and homeless after he lost his family in an accident. He appealed to the government of Cameroon for help but his request was not granted. But thanks to Samuel Eto'o who has come to the aid of the poverty-stricken former captain. He paid him a visit during his recent trip to Cameroon and donated the sum of 500,000FCFA. It was also reported that the UEFA Champions League winner also promised to give him a brand new house. Owona played several years for the Cameroonian national team and represented the Indomitable Lions in two Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments.
