The Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole; and the Senate Leader, Senator Ahmed Lawan, who led over 30 senators; among other leaders of APC are at the Township Stadium in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State to receive defecting Senator Godswill Akpabio from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
Akpabio arrived at the stadium, in company with his wife, at 2:20 p.m., while other leaders of the party arrived later.
The leaders of APC were welcomed by a mammoth crowd, who patiently waited from as early as 7 a.m., for the event slated for 10 a.m., but kicked off over four hours behind schedule.

APC youths burn down police station in Akwa Ibom

Angry APC youths have burnt down the Divisional Police Station in Okobo Local Government Area (LGA) of Akwa Ibom State, while they protested the alleged imposition of candidate and hijacking of materials by the party officials in connivance with security agents. The youths were angry over the alleged attempts by former senate minority leader and former governor of the state, Godswill Akpabio, to substitute the name of the winner of the federal constituency primaries with his preferred nominee, Victor Antai who was a former Commissioner of Culture in the state.    A philanthropist, Robinson Ebumoh, who reportedly won the primaries of the APC had his name missing on the list allegedly approved by the state chapter of the party, which carried the name of former  state Commissioner for Culture, Victor Antai, the preferred candidate of Akpabio. Cameroon legend Samuel Eto'o donates to former captain Norbert Owona

Cameroonian legend,  Samuel Eto’o  has reportedly donated funds to the former captain of the Indomitable Lions,  Norbert Owona  who has been homeless and sick. According to several reports, Owona became very broke, sick and homeless after he lost his family in an accident. He appealed to the government of Cameroon for help but his request was not granted. But thanks to Samuel Eto'o who has come to the aid of the poverty-stricken former captain. He paid him a visit during his recent trip to Cameroon and donated the sum of 500,000FCFA. It was also reported that the UEFA Champions League winner also promised to give him a brand new house. Owona played several years for the Cameroonian national team and represented the Indomitable Lions in two Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments.
