Horrifying moment 1-year-old girl drowns on her birthday while her mother was nearby texting on her phone (video)


A 1-year-old girl is in the hospital fighting for her life after her mother left her unattended in a pool.

Xiao Ai was celebrating her first birthday and her mother took her to a pool in Fuzhou city, Fujian, China, to celebrate as can be seen in a video shared online. The girl and another boy were seen splashing around in the pool with floaters while the mother had her attention on them and played with the boy for a little while.

The woman then picks up her phone and begins texting on it for a few seconds. Within that time, the toddler's swimming ring flips over, tossing the girl into the water. But the mother doesn't notice and continues texting on her phone while the child struggles in the water.

The boy in the pool tries to save Xiao Ai by reaching his hands towards her, but he couldn't help her. He then tries getting the mother's attention but she waved him away and continued using her phone. By the time she spotted her daughter drowning, the child was not breathing and had turned purple.

The girl was rushed to the hospital and has been in a coma for a month. She is now dependant on breathing apparatus to keep her alive.

Cameroon legend Samuel Eto'o donates to former captain Norbert Owona

Cameroonian legend,  Samuel Eto’o  has reportedly donated funds to the former captain of the Indomitable Lions,  Norbert Owona  who has been homeless and sick. According to several reports, Owona became very broke, sick and homeless after he lost his family in an accident. He appealed to the government of Cameroon for help but his request was not granted. But thanks to Samuel Eto'o who has come to the aid of the poverty-stricken former captain. He paid him a visit during his recent trip to Cameroon and donated the sum of 500,000FCFA. It was also reported that the UEFA Champions League winner also promised to give him a brand new house. Owona played several years for the Cameroonian national team and represented the Indomitable Lions in two Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments.
